was ashamed. She quit the Church and
purposed never to return. The Ladies'
Christian group met and prayed for her. But
they did more. They delegated one of the
group to go and find their fallen sister. This
was the Spirit of the Good Shepherd at work
IN those Christians (Mt 18:11,12). All day long
the Christian sought for the fallen woman but
could not find her. Early the next day she set
out again and at noon found the woman,
ashamed, alone. “Come back to Church,” she
said. “I'll never return,” replied the fallen
woman. “But we want you to come!” she
assured her. “Do the women want me?”, she
asked. “Yes, they sent me to find you. Come
back. We want you.” The fallen woman
returned, went to the altar and was
wonderfully forgiven by Christ. It happened
because those Christian women did what
Christ wanted them. She let Christ seek out
the lost one who had strayed from the fold. He
did it THROUGH HER! This is Christianity!
At first you may be afraid, or timid, or
hesitant to act in Christ's stead, but go in His
Name. HE IS IN YOU. Yield your emotions to
Him! He will guide you. And you will discover a
new dimension in Christian living which you
knew never before. Some ask: “How can I
know when God is speaking to me and leading
me to do something?” No one ever asks: “How
do I know when the devil is speaking to me?”
You know the devil's voice! You know God's
voice too! Just listen, then obey. The reason
so many question God's voice is because they
don't want to obey. YOU will grow deepest in
Christ by witnessing. He will become more
real to you than ever as He ministers through
YOUR BODY, His Church, His Temple. This
truth, therefore is the very heart-throb of true
Christian living and of soulwinning.

Godliness
In The Home
Charles H. Spurgeon
My brethren be ye like Christ at all times,
imitate Him in public. Many of us are called
to work before our fellow-men every day. We
are watched; our words are caught; our lives
are examined taken to pieces. The eagleeyed
world observes everything we do; and
sharp critics are upon us. Let us live the life
of Christ in public. Let us take care that we
exhibit our Master and not ourselves, so that
we can say, “It is no longer I that live, but Christ
that liveth in me” (Gal 2:20).
Carry out the spirit of Christ in your
churches too, wherever you are. Let your
fellow members say of you, “He has been with
Jesus.”
But most of all, take care to have religion
in your houses. A religious house is the best
proof of true piety. It is the child, the wife, the
friend, that can discern most of your real
character. A good man will improve his
household. Rowland Hill once said he would
not believe a man to be a true Christian, if his
wife, his children, and even the dog and cat,
were not the better for it. If your household is
not the better for your Christianity, if men
cannot say, “This is a better house than
others,” then be not deceived ye have nothing
of the grace of God. Carry out your godliness
in your family. Let everyone say that you have
practical religion. Let it be known and read in
the house, as well as in the world. Take care
of your character there; for what we are there,
we really are.
