Providing Seniors and Others with Life Planning Peace of Mind

Our firm provides pro bono advance planning assistance for seniors , veterans , and people with disabilities in Houston , Los Angeles , New York , Philadelphia , Pittsburgh , and Washington , D . C ., including wills , living wills , and healthcare and financial powers of attorney . In Houston , we partner with Houston Volunteer Lawyers , to help low-income seniors with their advanced planning needs . In New York , we work with the City Bar Justice Center to complete advance planning documents for low-income senior citizens and those living with cancer . In Philadelphia , we partner with SeniorLAW Center to host life planning clinics and to provide representation to individual clients , including homebound clients . Throughout Pennsylvania , volunteers work with Philadelphia VIP to assist low-income Philadelphia residents with drafting these documents . In D . C ., we partner with the Legal Counsel for the Elderly and Whitman-Walker Health to provide these services to members of the LGBTQ + community and people with HIV or other chronic health conditions . In February 2022 , the firm hosted a training with the City Bar Justice Center to encourage more of our attorneys to get involved with this important work .
Firm Partners with City Bar Justice Center on Advance Planning for Vulnerable Individuals

Working with the City Bar Justice Center in New York City , Blank Rome attorney Deborah A . Skakel volunteers to complete advance planning documents for low-income senior citizens and those living with cancer . These documents are tremendously important , especially for the populations Debbie serves who face increased health risks due to COVID-19 and other diseases and who are understandably anxious about getting their affairs in order . In recognition of her work through the Cancer Advocacy and Elder Justice projects , Debbie has received the City Bar Justice Center ’ s Outstanding Pro Bono Service Award .

Attorneys Help Elderly Woman Facing Forced Sale of Her Home
Francis X . Crowley was instrumental in developing our firm ’ s longstanding pro bono relationship with the St . Monica Elder Care Program through the Archdiocese of Philadelphia . Frank and Joseph P . Crane represented an elderly woman who was tricked by a “ We Buy Houses ” flyer and faced the forced sale of her home . They were able to get the company to back down so the client could retain ownership of her home .
