Fighting for better broadband
In this day and age, households and homebusinesses depend on reliable broadband services and it’ s become as valued as water and electricity.
After phone and internet outages hit Colebee residents hard in December, I promised to bring telecommunication companies and residents together to discuss mobile and broadband services.
And that’ s exactly I did, hosting a local town hall where residents could raise their concerns and learn about what can be done to improve service.
Colebee wasn’ t the only suburb hit with an outage for days – Bidwill also suffered five days of interruptions in January.
I want our area to get better service and if your suburb has telecommunications issues let me know.
Standing up for Western Sydney Students
Having a university close to home is a great way to get local students into uni. Institutions like Western Sydney University were created to give local students a real chance to build skills
Ed Husic at the town hall in Colebee. and create better futures.
The Western Sydney Uni Nirimba campus at Quakers Hill was part of that mission. Western Sydney University has ripped out the only university campus in one of the largest council areas in Western Sydney. I’ ve been clear that Western Sydney deserves more educational opportunity, not less.
That’ s why I’ ve raised these concerns in Parliament and will keep pushing for investment that strengthens access to education in our community.
Western Sydney’ s future depends on giving young people every chance to succeed and that’ s what I’ ll keep fighting for.
