Employment Accelerator Event – Jump Start your Career
Jobseekers looking for a rewarding role in Health and Disability , Transport and Logistics , Construction , Hospitality and Cleaning have the chance to meet a range of employers in the one location – and apply for a role on the spot – at Bowman Hall Blacktown on 26th March .
“ The Employment Accelerator event is a unique opportunity to bring employers together with potential employees in the one spot , reducing what might otherwise be a lengthy application process .
“ Candidates have the chance to speak to a range of possible employers and may land a job on the spot if they ’ re the right match .
“ Employers can meet a pool of candidates in person in a relatively short time and discuss the benefits of the career and working with them .”
SydWest Multicultural Services held the first Employment Accelerator ( Home Care ) event at its Blacktown premises at the end of January , attracting nearly 40 candidates .
Two more events dedicated to Home Care were held in February , with the March event opened up to a range of other industries including Health and Disability , Transport and Logistics , Construction , Hospitality and Cleaning .

Blacktown City Council statement regarding community asbestos concerns
The following statement can be attributed to a Blacktown City Council spokesperson :
Since 2020 , Blacktown City Council has specified to our suppliers that mulch must originate from tree-based material . We ensure that suppliers have been certified by the NSW Environment Protection Authority .
Our Council also generates its own supply of mulch through the ongoing maintenance of trees across our 54 suburbs .
Specifically , Council avoids the use of material that is sourced from building or construction waste or other waste like wooden pallets .
Council owns and maintains over 800 parks , reserves and sporting fields , within our 5,000 properties .
If asbestos is identified anywhere in Blacktown City , Council staff promptly investigate .
Any discovery of asbestos on a Council owned site puts into place a process where the site is closed , and Environmental Health Officers investigate .
We utilise a list of contractors that includes Occupational Hygienists and licensed asbestos removalists to deal with any asbestos .
