BEST $ 100m investment for sports innovation
In another milestone for sport and healthy living in our city , construction of a $ 100 million exercise , sports , rehabilitation , education and technology hub is well underway within Blacktown International Sportspark , Rooty Hill .
Billed as a unique , first-class resource for western Sydney , Blacktown Exercise Sports and Technology Hub ( BEST ) builds on the Sportspark ’ s established facilities , with backing from multiple partners Australian Catholic University , Sydney West Sports Medicine , Went West , the AFL and home ground teams joining with Blacktown City Council .
Due for completion in 2023 , BEST will provide a home base for patient care and rehabilitation services alongside leading education and research programs .
It will offer public amenities and technical facilities including treatment rooms , a biomechanics laboratory , strength and conditioning facilities , and
an environmental chamber .
A cafe will operate seven days , offering a place for a pre- or postgame catch up , or a pit-stop on a family cycle or walking adventure .
Next door to BEST , The Lodge will offer affordable accommodation to teams , individuals and families within the Sportspark .
This key transformational project in Blacktown City will take community health , active living and sports innovation and excellence to a new level , according to Mayor Tony Bleasdale .
