On Tuesday, December
10th,
2014,
Mesivta
Ateres Yaakov hosted
the Zichron Dovid Blood
Drive. The Blood Drive,
a project of the Bikur
Cholim Chessed Organization, raised an impressive 97 pints of
blood from MAY students, staff, and other
donors.
Students
and
others over the age of
sixteen took part in the
drive, giving blood for
this worthy cause. The
blood was to go to help
many people in need of
blood transfusions in
time
for
Chanukah.
There was a professional
medical staff on hand to
manage the pre-testing

and draw the blood.
Afterwards,
there was a refreshments table so that
donors could replenish their strength.
Additionally, in appreciation for the
donors’ participation,
several
corporate
sponsors
provided
added incentives. All
donors received a
free one- month trial
at Warren Levi Martial Arts, as well as a
gift card to one of
several Five Towns
restaurants.

Eagles Dominate Yeshiva Football
By Moshe Goodstein-10th Grade
The
MAY
football team has gotten off to a blistering
7-0 start in their Yeshiva Football League
season. They have
won each game by at
least 15 points and
have an astounding
three shutouts under
their belts already.
Additionally,
they
have outscored opponents by a total of
189 points over the
course of the seven
games.
The Eagle’s
first game was against
Yam Hatorah and it
was a dominant Eagle’s
performance
from start to finish.
The Eagles raced to a
19-0 lead in the first
half and won 27-0.
The second game of
the season was a rematch against Yam
Hatorah, and the result was an even
larger blowout as the
Eagles won 34-0.
YDE
broke
MAY’s scoreless defensive
streak
in
game 3, but the Eagles won handily 266. After the third
game, the Eagles’
coaches, Josh Rahman and Natan Cohen, gave the team a
big pep talk. “Although we are out to
a great start, none of
our upcoming opponents are automatic
wins, so we better
bring our game.”
