8 . Lead from where you are
I took this picture in the Kruger National Park , of a bale of serrated hinged terrapins clambering onto a hippo ’ s back . The hippo was getting tickled by the terrapins , so kept rolling over on its back and putting its legs in the air . All the terrapins would fall off and then the hippo would resurface and the terrapins would start climbing back aboard . A few tiny terrapins were tormenting a massive hippo , just because they wanted a dry spot to sun themselves ! We can achieve much more in teams than we can as individuals . Never forget that the people who make up your team are your most important asset .
8 . Lead from where you are
Leadership is not about titles . The best leaders are servant leaders – those who seek to work with and build others to serve the greater good or objectives , rather than striving for personal power and control . Anybody can be a leader in their own right and help to influence others positively , even if they seem relatively small and inconspicuous .
