Syngenta launches I RISE initiative to train 100,000 rural youth
Syngenta has launched the I RISE initiative to train over 100,000 rural youth in agriculture-related skills , addressing labor shortages and rural migration in India .
The I RISE program targets youth under 35 with a Class 10 education . It offers 30 days of classroom training followed by a two-month internship , with further training or employment options . The program uses a 3E approach : Educate , Engage , and Elevate . Jeff Rowe , Syngenta ' s Global CEO , highlighted the program ’ s alignment with eight Sustainable Development Goals and its role in supporting rural prosperity and skilled labor in farming .
In partnership with Syngenta Foundation India and NIAM , I RISE aims to enhance India ’ s agricultural workforce and support rural livelihoods . The launch was attended by key officials from the Ministry of Agriculture and agricultural research institutions .
AVPL International and DeHaat join forces to modernize agriculture
benefiting 27 lakh farmers
AVPL International and DeHaat have joined forces to enhance agriculture for 27 lakh farmers in India by integrating advanced technology with DeHaat ’ s network . The collaboration will leverage AVPL ’ s drone and agri-tech solutions to boost productivity and sustainability .
Amrendra Singh of DeHaat and Preet Sandhuu of AVPL emphasized the partnership ’ s role in advancing farming practices . A key component is AVPL ’ s Project Management Unit , which will train 140,000 people in drone operations and agriculture , creating " Dronepreneurs " for DeHaat stores .
Farmer City International Pvt Ltd , AVPL ’ s subsidiary , will provide training , certification , and market linkages through a blend of physical and digital platforms . The initiative includes deploying Drone-as-a-Service ( DaaS ) across 70 locations and
opening stores in agricultural mandis with state and national agriculture councils . The partnership will expand nationwide , starting with key agricultural regions .
