TOP TEN Educational Supporting Progams at
St. Philip's College
Educating and training a Biomedical Engineering Technician doesn't happen by putting a sequence of courses and running the students through those courses. It happens by the collaboration of faculty across disciplines working together to support the goals of the students. In this final piece, I'd like to give you a glimpse into the support we have at the college to help make the mission of SPC's BMET program a success.

At number 10, is the Math department. They work hard at supporting all the programs at the college and providing tutoring. We use two courses in the degree program being MATH 1414 College Algebra and MATH 1316 or MATH 2412 being Trigonometry and Precalculus respectively.
At number 9, is the Medical Laboratory Technician program. This program works with our students giving them opportunities to work on their broken equipment. This real life experience helps our BMET gain practical knowledge at the college.
At number 7, the department of Social and Behavioral Sciences adds two courses to the BMET program and they are good at hat they do. With passionate professors at the front of the classroom, our BMETs learn about Psychology and Ethics from professors who are engaged in the community with Red Cross to ensure they are connecting these rigorous subjects to their profession.
At number 8, is our Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy programs. These programs have allowed us access not only to their medical equipment, but gave us access to their driving simulator so their students can practice with assessing patients in driving situations. This was exciting our students and well within their grasps of knowledge.
