ER MOTHER WAS AN ARTIST.
HER FATHER A REVOLUTIONIST, CREDITED
WITH TRANSPLANTING THE LIVITY OF
RASTAFARI FROM ITS REALMS IN JAMAICA
FIRM INTO BARBADIAN SOIL.
Nakazzi Tafari to some, Nakazzi
Hutchinson to others, was blessed at birth
with her many talents. Her love for art
manifested in her drawings and spread
all over the house where she was raised;
sometimes to the displeasure of its other
occupants.
“When I was a kid I had this sort of
conflict with my family who were like ‘why
are you bringing this junk into the house’
and I’d be like ‘oh it’s not junk, it’s my art.”
