MY LIFE AS A TECTONIC PLATE

By MarĂa Palacios

Iam a tectonic plate but I don't like being it. My life is very hard bacause I can only meet the tectonic plates around me and that's sad.

I am the Eurasian Plate and I hold the continents of Europe and Asia.

My first years as a tectonic plate were surprising because I didn't know who or what I was and why I was here. I couldn't find an answer for these questions.

My life is very complicated because when I move I affect the life above me so I prefer not to move.

But sometimes, I can't help it and I have to move and collide with other tectonic plates producing volcanoes or creating mountain ranges such as the Alps, the Caucasus or the Ural mountains. When I want to talk to other plates, I vibrate and I can produce earthquakes. However, if I separate from other plates, the mantle on which I am floating, can come out through the crust and form oceanic ridges.

I am going to live for many years so I have to be very patient and I have to look for a boyfriend because I am not going to be alone for the rest of my life.

MY LIFE AS A TECTONIC PLATE

By Soledad Villar

I am the North American tectonic plate. I float over the mantle. It's funny but usually it is very hot. My parents, my friends and I help in the creation of the relief.

I am a quiet tectonic plate and I don't like causing trouble to people but sometimes I can't help it.

My life is sometimes stressing because I have to do a lot of movements and when I was a baby it was difficult to do them.

When I was younger I created a lot of volcanoes and mountain ranges because all the other plates were adults, so I had to fold and subduct when I collided with them.
