The students of Social Studies of the 1st year of E.S.O worked on a lesson about the planet Earth.

The objectives for the lesson were to know What is our planet like?, What are the movements of the Earth?, What are meridians and parallels used for?, What is a time zone? and What types of maps are there?

During the lesson we used thinking maps that were very helpful. We also learnt new words and concepts like latitude, longitude, hemisphere, solstice, equinox, meridian, parallel, axis, orbit, rotation or revolution...

Now we can explain and describe what is the Earth like, we can define its elements, we understand its movements and their consequences, we can find a point on a map using its geographic coordinates...and all this in ENGLISH!!
