BC: Bikers Brotherhood or Sisterhood, do you believe in most
used and famous words in bikers community?
VR: I think it's very exaggerated words and people say these
words but I feel it's for namesake, because, riders are mostly
believe in their own club or a group and they feel and keep ill
feelings towards other groups, and some riders who rides
superbike they have this superiority syndrome, they feel other
bikers are untouchable, I am saying in general, may be there
are exceptions but majority of riders are that way.
But I do feel brotherhood is like to help each other
unconditionally and I personally follow that, I can't say about
others.
BC: According to you, what's the difference between
commuters and a rider, as they both ride motorcycles?
VR: Theres no difference, they both are bike lovers. The only
difference is that they don't get or take out some time for rides
because of their responsibility or their job commitments, there
are so many commuters who showed me their willingness to
ride to Leh-Ladakh, but they say we don't have bullet or any
other heavy bikes, we ride a simple 100 or 150 cc bikes.
I just say one thing that, it't the bike who rides the rider, but
it's the rider who rides the bike. So doesn't matter which bike
you ride. So I think there's no difference between commuters
and a riders.
I show them a simple calculation, agreed you have 100cc bike
but tell me daily how many kms you ride, some say 20 kms, so
20 kms X 24 days = 480 kms. that means every month you ride
about 500 kms without any fear then why do you keep any fear
if you wanna travel to Leh-Ladakh or any long distance.
BC: Do you have any goals in biking? If yes then please share.
VR: I want to do international rides now and if my budget
allows then I need to upgrade my bike.
BC: Do you think riding motorcycles has an advantage over
the cagers (car commuters)?
VR: Definitely there are so many places where cars can't go
but bike can, I agree car has its own pros too. But Biking is
just "WOW" and in a fun way, girls are more attracted to bike
riders than a car. If you are full geared and have nice bike then
it looks more mach and manly, people notices you when you
ride a bike with a attitude. And can enjoy many things on bike
than car.
BC: Riding or Off road riding, what do you enjoy the most?
VR: Always Off road, and that's more adventurous and
adrenaline.
BC: What advice do you wish, you knew, when you first
started out riding motorcycles?
VR: I didn't know about riding kits and gears at that time, I
didn't know then that for LDR , what kind of handle bar one
should have, or what shock ups you should have, line ON and
OFF tyres for both roads and off roads, Many technicalities
which I know now, I didn't know then.
BC: We have observed families of riders, always fears for their
sons or daughters when they go for LDR, what you have to
say about this?
VR: Yes it is true, families do concern, if I have to say, my son
goes for a ride then it's very obvious I would be concerned
about him.
