BIKERS CLUB ® MAGAZINE | PAGE 13 I started living my life fullest with believing in myself and cherishing every moment of my life without taking it for granted. And maybe that trigger point brought me into the track racing and brought positive aggression from inside to achieve things that I have gained at this young age. It made me a person and helped me to reach a position by which other people get inspiration through it. Track racing came into my life in 2015, which was the year when for the first time, I raced in the J.K.Tyre Superbike National Championship. I race in the 1000 cc category every year on my Ducati 890 Panigale. I am the only female track racer amongst 40 to 45 men racer every year, which itself is one of the trigger points. BC: Why from motocross to track racing? NY: Biking for me started with motocross. I was a part of a circle and a group of men who used to do motocross and being a part of that I used to ride with them, which kind of gave me a high. I started with Honda CRF 150, which was somewhere near to a motocross bike. I did it as leisure; I used to enjoy driving off to Aravali and riding on the track with people. Post the motocross, we all used to chill and have fun that gave me the motivation for the biking. Honestly, the track racing is something that happened spontaneously, which I didn't plan. I used to go for motocross once in a while and never took it professionally. Whereas, the track racing is something that every month I m on the Buddh International Circuit to practice, and every year I participate in the race of J.K.Tyre Superbike National Championship. BC: Which was your first motocross and a track race? NY: My first track race was in 2015, J.K.Tyre Superbike National Championship held at the Buddh International Circuit. I raced in the 1000 cc category, and I was the only female racer out of 40 Men. I have never raced motocross professionally or even raced. I as have mentioned earlier that I have done motocross as leisure and not as a very serious sport. BC: Apart from racing, do you like to ride as a tourer? NY: Well, I do really like riding as a tourer, and I do Sunday rides once in a while with GODS (Group of Delhi Superbikes), but rarely I go ride with them. I have also been riding with the Ducati Group of Riders and doing a lot of Ducati experience by covering Rajasthan and other states. But honestly, when it comes to touring, I am not as passionate as the track racing. I believe everybody in biking or every biker has a particular form of biking that they like; some people like touring, some like racing, some like off-roading, and some like motocross. So it's all about finding what you like as a biker. But for me, racing has been one aspect of biking that has made me feel like I am the one who's conquering milestones. I think that's what racing does for me as oppose to touring. Whereas, touring is something I would probably do with my fellow bikers, riding off to some hill or some Sunday morning ride. But genuinely, touring is something that I would not like to venture it out on a regular basis. Which I believe is not my form of biking that I would like to be crazy about.
