Procedure at immigration,
during entry into Bhutan
Upon your travel arrival at the India - Bhutan Border, you
will first need to go to the immigration office to process
your bio-metrics and photograph, after which you will
receive your personal permit.
At the immigration desk, foreigners are required to get
an entry stamp in their passports. It is worthwhile to
mention that you must declare if you are carrying
cigarettes into the country.
You will then need to go to the Transport Division to
receive your bike permit.
Procedure at check posts, during
entry into Bhutan
After receiving your personal permit and bike permit (2
different documents), you will have to proceed to the first
check entry post, which is about 5 Kms beyond
Phinsoling. Both documents need to be stamped at
different kiosks that are located adjacent to each other.
