BC: Do you think riding bikes brings you more
money, if you are famous and if you get
sponsors?
MYP: It's very subjective, people do make their
passion in to their business but I think via
sponsors they can just survive, but not earn
lot of money.
BC: What do you have to say about a famous
rider and a real rider?
MYP: It's again very subjective, there are
riders who are real and famous... whereas,
there are some who are fake but famous in
social media. So it all depends on your nature
and your attitude towards biking.
BC: Do you know any biker who's very famous
in social media but fake in riding?
MYP: I know it but I don't wanna name it here.
Ha Ha Ha...
BC: Many or just few ?
MYP: Many !!!
BC: According to you, what's the difference
between commuters and a biker, as they both
ride motorcycles?
MYP: Yes, commuter is using his/her bike to
reach his/her destination and they usually
don't take their bike as a passion or a
pleasure, some times they cry about sun is too
hot or rain is too heavy, commuters doesn't
have a choice, because they use bike as a
mode of transport, whereas, a biker chooses
his/her bike to travel and fulfil his/her passion.
BC: Do you have any goals in biking?
MYP: My goal was to travel a world on a bike
which I completed... And I did ride for women's
rights in Iran when I got special permissions
to ride through Iran as a female rider. So my
goal is to fight for women's rights in Iran as
well as in India, and I will show my concerns
through my riding.
BC: Do you think riding motorcycles have an
advantage over the cagers (car commuters)?
MYP: No ! It depends, you can't compare
both... Some people feel we are stupid that we
ride a bike in hot summer, whereas, they
prefer to sit in or drive a car with AC on, it's
just a mindset and a personal choice.
BC: Riding or Off road Riding, what do you
enjoy the most?
MYP: I think I love Off roading but riding
should be mix of both, because when you are
on a world ride and every day if you have to do
off road riding then I don't think you will be left
with any muscles to move after a week. So you
need to have mix of both.
BC: What advice do you wish you knew,
when you first started out?
MYP: For my world ride, at the end of the
ride what I learnt was that always ride
lighter. I wish I knew this when I started my
world ride. We tend to carry many things
on a ride thinking if something happened
then we might just need it, but we ignore
the point that if something happens then
you can always buy it in between the rides.
So I always say this to all those who go for
a long rides that, go lighter.
BC: We have observed, families of riders
always fears for their children when they
go for LDR.. What you have to say about
this?
MYP: I mean I don't know I will ever allow
my daughter to be a biker and go around
the world because of the risks biking
carries, But I really appreciate my mom
who allowed me to do that, and it's not
easy. My husband is supportive and I do
understand his fears when sometimes my
phone is not reachable or in no network for
couple of days. So being a parent or a
husband, it's very difficult for them to
allow their dear ones to go on a bike ride
across the world... And I think I am very
fortunate in this.
BC: Did you ride to any bike events?
MYP: I have been to India Bike week
every year, I went to biking
community in Chennai where I was
invited by them. I have been to
115th anniversary of Harley
Davidson in Prague, I have been in a
conference held by Harley Davidson
in Bali, and I have also been in BMW
gathering in Garmisch in Germany.
BC: When do you think you'll stop
riding?
MYP: I don't know.. I mean I will
stop riding when riding will no
longer give me any joy, but I don't
think so that's gonna happen,
because something you love, you
never stop it.
BC: Do you get nervous for any ride,
national or international?
MYP: Nope !!! I never force myself
for any ride , for me it's like I am
absolutely happy for it.. absolutely
comfortable in it. I never feel like
OMG ! I have a ride.. So when you
enjoy what you do, you never get
nervous, and that's what I think.
BC: Any piece of advice do you
want to give it to new riders, who
are starting out riding.. especially
female riders?
MYP: Not really !! I just wanna say,
they should learn proper biking, be
100 % fully geared, learn some
riding techniques, and if you are
passionate then you can achieve
your dreams and do whatever you
BC: Regarding those who don't practice
want. If I can cross 64 countries
ATGATT (ALL THE GEARS ALL THE TIME), then I am sure they can also do that,
what do you have to say about them? Are
it's just they should know how to do

MYP: If they do not think that they need
step by step, you don't need to be a

best rider in the world. Don't do
life is worthy for living... For me gears are
stupid stuffs to prove to others, ride

because anything can happen on the
roads. When I see a biker without gears,
BC: It's very painful topic to revisit,
most of the time I stop them and say, you
but have you ever gone down? Any

MYP: Yes I did !!! I never met with
any serious accidents. But In my

pregnant, I did not stop wearing gears,
because I suddenly changed the line
there was a time when I could not able zip

controllable speed.
BC: How do you manage your family, when
you are riding? Especially your baby?
MYP: I go for the short ride which does not
take whole day or a long because I still
feed my baby and I need to be back home.
When I go for a ride with my 'Lady Riders
Of India' I tell my husband to take care of
baby for couple of hours.
