ISSUE 01 | JANUARY 2020 BC FORUM Somehow, with the hangover of the vacation and some beautiful memories, I ended my day well with my students with some brainstorming science sessions. I, Ajeet Kuntal, a farmer by birth and a teacher by profession but a rider by choice, which is my only passion. When I see other riders with proper gears riding their motorcycles, I feel dejected and numb because I am a nature lover and like to explore different places which act as a booster for me in my hectic life and riding a motorcycle as a mode of travel gives me freedom and wings to accelerate my passion. But what to do! My profession doesn't allow me to go on a long rides, and I have to live with that, but nevertheless, I take on my passion on weekends on my Royal Enfield to nearby locations with or without Darshana as a pillion, but I make sure that at least I ride once a week as a rider, and not as commuter which I ride it every day. Thinking all these things, I came across to a junction where I saw two riders with fully geared-up headed for some long-distance ride, which again gave me jolt, as people say "JISE DIL SE YAAD KARTE HAI, WOH SAAMNE AA JAATA HAI." Although I was going home, for that particular moment at the traffic signal, I felt about joining them... Anyways I couldn't, and by showing thumbs up to them I took a right turn towards my home, and for almost 200 meters I could hear the VROOOM sound of their bikes, and with a peeved mind I decided to take on a good long ride on coming Sunday, and I stopped at a eateries and packed few Kachodi's for both of us which I love the most and famous in Mathura. After consoling my mind with Kachodi's treat, which I was about to celebrate with Darshana, I knocked the door unaware of the situation which was waiting for me at my home. Darshana opened the door, and I realized she was still lost, and to my surprise, I realized that she did not even have bath before I could ask anything to her; she took me to the bedroom where I got shocked to see lots of printouts were scattered over my bed. "What the hell is this, Darshana?" Why all these papers are scattered over here? I asked. With a great intensification, she showed me one printout on which it was written, "SAVE WATER • SAVE LIFE" title, and started explaining to me about the water crisis in India and the world. I really had no idea why she was showing me these BIKERS CLUB ® | MAGAZINE | PAGE 41 pieces of stuff with fervor. I put my hand on her forehead and told I think we need to go to the doctor; I suppose you are not well. I am not mad Ajeet! Look at these data, which shows the severe crisis which the entire world will be facing! Especially India. I could not control my laughter and brought her out of the bedroom to the dining room and said, You need Kachodi's. Annoyed, she started explaining to me about the water crisis of the country but hungry me concentrating on the Kachodi's more, over her talks, but she continued explaining to me about her research of today. "WAISE BHI, BIVI KA KAUN SUNTA HAI, ATTENTION TOH SIRF NAAM BHAR KA HOTA HAI." and when you have famous kachodi's in front of you then toh KOI CHANCE BHI NAHI BANTA." But she was so engrossed in her talks that she did not even touch kachodi's and went inside to show me more data on WATER CRISIS, whereas I was looking edaciously on the Kachodi's in hope to eat it. Darshana, what's wrong with you? And what is all this Water Crisis and all? And how the hell are we going to conserve it? And the most critical question is, why? Why are you wasting your time on this, and what's going in your head? Darshana seemed severe about this, and to answer my why? She only said, "Remember Jaisalmer?" As I know, when Darshana takes up any work, then she goes deep into it with a furious approach. As a teacher, I am well aware of the social issues, and I do understand the gravity of the water crisis surrounding us and the impact it is bringing on the future of our country and its people and the generations. But as ordinary people, what can we do? Its a government's responsibility to take some severe steps to tackle issues like this. As a citizen, we can be vigilant but to bring change is quite difficult. But then I told her, let's talk about this tomorrow and we ended our day with some Kachodi's. Although I was hungry but looking at Darshana's dilemma, I told my stomach to keep quiet because I didn't want to give her any more stress thinking that she will be normal tomorrow morning. Darshana is a primary school teacher and a philanthropist and a social activist by her core, always ready to take on any system and unjust. B I K E R S C L U B ® | www.bikersclub.in
