THE INTERVIEW BHARAT VATSA By Bikers Club BC: How did you start riding ? And how long have you been riding ? BV: I started riding when i was in class 11th. My father gifted me Kawasaki Bajaj RTZ-100. I always used to dream of owning a Kawasaki Ninja at that time - I am talking about 90's. Post that after a gap of 10 years I started actual riding with the group with my RE thunderbird 500cc. BC: How many bikes you own ? Which is your favourite bike ? Why ? BV: I own two bikes, 1) RE Thunderbird 500cc, 2) UM Commando Classic. Out of these I like RE Thunderbird 500cc the most, it being more versatile, powerful and customized as per my stance. Above all I just love the typical DUG.. DUG.. sound of an RE. BC: Any particular bike you DISLIKE ? BV: Harley's & other super bikes just because I can't afford them.. Ha Ha (just joking). Mainly because those bikes are meant for the highways and we ride across any kind of terrain including where there are no roads. BC: What made you want to ride a bike ? Have you made any long distance trips with it yet ? BV: I was always passionate of bikes specially after seeing the serial "STREET HAWK". I have done many long trips; few to name - Ladakh, Bhutan, Spiti- Killar Kishtwar, Konan, Daman- Diu, Goa, etc. BC: How do you plan a new ride ? BV: We discuss within our group (I am the founding member of "Knight Riderz Riding Club, Pune"). We go with various parameters - Climate, Route type whether off-road, Highway, Ghats, etc. Accordingly we decide the location. Long rides like Ladakh are planned in advance. BC: What are the basic things you keep in your mind when you plan a new ride ? And how do you select your routes ? BV: As mentioned above we go with various parameters- Climate, Route type whether off- road, Highway, Ghats, etc. Accordingly we decide the location. Long rides like Ladakh are planned in advance.
