WHEN RIDING IN MEXICO
Ride only during the day and stick to toll highways.
Tolls are expensive. We paid 1802 pesos for 2 bikes in a
single day, for around 850 kms.
Watch out for petrol pumps on the highway, as you will
not find them everywhere. Some petrol pumps do not
accept cards, so you will need to pay in Pesos.
There are BMW service stations in a few cities.
TRAVELLER TIPS
Definitely ride through Baja California. It's safer and very
beautiful.
We loved the people, food and scenery and there was
nothing that was dangerous or tricky.
There are hotels right at the Mexico-Guatemala border.
We managed well, even without knowing Spanish.
