Mr. Arun Sasi sir helped us by teaching the basics of
finite element analysis from which we got to know if
our designs were safe.
The competition itself is a 1 year long commitment
where an engineer's talent at a student level is tested.
One of the major difficulties that we faced were
finding components and manufacturers. Local
markets and manufacturers in Kerala are not familiar
with what a quad bike is? What was available in the
market was either a component of bike or a car. Thus,
we had to give our designs and requirements to
manufacturers at Punjab. Shipping of components
from them took a tedious amount of time which
became a major turndown for us.
Making a design and having ideas were not enough to
make this into reality. We took assistance of Dr.
Anandan D, a retired scientist ISRO, who helped us
throughout in our manufacturing process. We got lot
of support from Mr. Balamurali, in-charge of
production lab of our college who gave contacts of
many local manufacturers. Through his assistance we
fabricated mounts and other components at college
break time. After manufacturing, the initial technical
inspection was done by Mr. Adhin Sir and Mr. Manesh
Sir, who constantly kept us on track for the
competition.
We used to sleep on terrace working late nights and
working hard manufacturing and dreaming our off-
roader to come to it's final state. Building a quad bike
wasn't an easy task; we worked 1 year, day and night
to build this beast to roar on the hills of
'Nedumangad,' where it was tested for the first time.
During the testing phase, we got to know all the
problems of our vehicle and started reworking on it.
Next step was 'body design,' through the journey we
met with extremers racing team Mr. Deepu and Mr.
Jeevan who helped us to colour our off-roader to a
spiderman theme.
Finally we build the vehicle fully. Now the next
problem was nobody knew that how to drive this.
Team extremers taught us lessons on driving our
beast at "parottkonam" ground, pongumud. Being a
cricket ground where all youngsters came to play
cricket were converted to an off-road testing ground.
Our beast attracted lot of crowd on that day.

After the final stage quad bike was shown to our
beloved director madam and with her blessings we
left to Hyderabad where quad was dismantled and
transported by train.
