ISSUE 12 | DECEMBER 2019 BC FORUM BIKERS CLUB ® | MAGAZINE | PAGE 43 JOURNEY TO QUAD BIKE DESIGN CHALLENGE SEASON 4 DEDICATED TO ALL MEMBERS OF TEAM TRIVAYANTHRA Summer vacations, the only lazy time we spend in home sleeping and doing nothing. Those were the days when we, a group of friends dedicated to attend an internship on quad bike designing at "Sree Chithra Thirunal College of Engineering' conducted by 'FMAE' (Fraternity of Mechanical and Automative Engineers). Being an automobile enthusiastic, we were all excited to build this off roader. While some were sad as they had to sacrifice their summer vacations for a 15 day workshop ! Yet those sacrifices and efforts were worth a try. This workshop was none another than once in a lifetime experience that we were given the opportunity to create something on our own. Learning basic skills from designing, finite element analysis to hands on building quad bike, our mentors Mr. Ravi Robin, Mr. Aditya Rao and Mr. Anil Singh Mehta shaped us to better engineers. After seeing 'go kart' racing team "Mechkartoons" of 'SCT College,' a question raised in our minds. Why can't we start a motor sporting team in our college? This question was fueled by our mentors. By this thought we approached many teachers of our department, yet none were willing to be our guide for project. The first hinderance in our journey ! Yet, we didn't give up and finally found our guide Mr. Pradeep Raj. There was something positive about him that made our ideas strong enough to covey. The next step was team formation, assigning a captain, manager and a team name. Being the first quad bike team from Kerala, we decided to put the name "Trivayanthra." And this is how Trivayanthra evolved, lead by a female captain with an eye-catching tagline "reviving up for a change." From that day to today it's been a cakewalk for us. The Next hurdle in our journey was finding a space to build this vehicle. The college authorities were not sure if we were capable of manufacturing and denied permission to work at college and at last we had to build our vehicle at terrace of a house. The first task was designing our idea. We got 5 member team from final year which made our designing process easier. Their constant dedication and hard work made our dream bike come into pictorial representation. B I K E R S C L U B ® | www.bikersclub.in
