BC: Do you think riding is an expensive
passion and there are very less bikers who
get sponsorship for their rides? Did you
ever get any sponsorships for any of your
rides?
NN: Yes, for me riding is expensive, we
can't stay anywhere but to look for a safer
place or a good hotel which costs a lot,
and also the maintenance of bike and fuel
costs high. In my last 6 years of riding, this
is the first time during my Himalaya tour, I
got a small amount of sponsorship for my
fuel from Assam tourism.
BC: What do you prefer SOLO or GROUP
ride ? Why?
NN: I always prefer SOLO, because I don't
like 'time limit' when it comes to exploring
the places. I am solo decision maker where
to stop, when to click picture and enjoy
more. We can interact with new people and
make more friends if we are solo on roads.
BC: What's your point of view on breaking
rules in riding or about disciplinary riding?
NN: Discipline and Responsibility is
utmost important in riding. We must follow
traffic rules and should give priority to
safety of ourselves and others too.
BC: Do you think riding motorcycle has an
advantage over car commuters?
NN: Motorcycle can take you to places
where no car can ever go. The open ride
gives us the feeling of freedom.
BC: What advice do you wish you knew,
when you first started out riding?
NN: Few technical and basic knowledge of
bike and the importance of riding gears.
BC: What do you have to say about
following your passion and living with it?
NN: I always believe, better to fight for
something than live for nothing. Life
changes very quickly. Life is too short to
be anything but happy. Passion and
dreams are the reason to live. I never
compromise with my dreams because my
happiness lies in it. If I am happy, I am
living my life. BC: Regarding those who don't practice
ATGATT (ALL THE GEARS ALL THE TIME),
how do you feel about them? Do you
encourage it?
NN: If you are on ride, never compromise
with quality riding gears, no one knows
what can happen very next moment. I was
not wearing proper riding boots during my
accident that left me with a fractured ankle.
I always wear good helmet, full riding
jacket and pants, riding boots and gloves.
And I want to say that please don't ignore
when it comes to safety. Life is precious
and your family is waiting for you at home
when you are outside. Just be responsible.
BC: You know the challenges being a
female rider, but if your daughter wishes
to take on rides then what would you
react? Will you allow it?
NN: I will definitely support her and give
her a proper guidance regarding routes,
gears and safety measures. BC: Your point of view on Indian Riders
and foreign riders And or Indian riding
clubs and foreign riding clubs?
NN: Riders are all the same till they are
living their dreams. I am not much aware
of any clubs as I don't belong to any of it,
and never had ride with them.
BC: I am sure you will...
BC: When you are on LDR and not
reachable, how your family react,
especially your daughter?
NN: They really have patience. Though
they know that I am out of network but
still they continuously try my number.
They just want to know that I am safe. My
daughter don't call me when I am on a ride
but leave a text if it is very important.
Mom tries my number more than 100
times in a day.
BC: Riding is a risky passion, what do you
want to say about safety measures?
NN: Always buy quality riding gears. Don't
compromise with the quality. A good
helmet, good riding jacket and pants,
gloves and most importantly riding boots
that many of us don't buy but it's really
important. Life comes first so we must
give priority to safety. You can live your
dreams only if you are safe and alive.
BC: Would you ride different type of bike,
i.e. a Cruiser if have a sport bike and vice-
versa.
NN: Yes for sure.
BC: If you have to pick one protective gear
before hitting on the road then what would
it be? Jacket, Helmet or Gloves?
NN: For me all riding gears are important
but if I need to choose one then I will
choose 'Helmet.'
BC: What are your dream bikes or a next
bike?
NN: BMW R 1250 GS or Africa Twin.
BC: Do you think riding motorcycle brings
fame?
NN: Yes, If you are female especially in
India.
