I prefer Himalayan, coz the Himalayan doesn't
follow any norms, it gets criticised by many but
it does what it's suppose to do when you put on
the test, just like life, you shine bright when
odds are against you.
I can still recall how I was happy when I
welcomed 'WANDERBUG' into my life and that
was the day when I promised myself that I won't
look back again and will never compromise with
my dreams at any cost.
Himalayan is as strong as my will power. The
perfect companion for me who loves challenges
and who thinks beyond the limits. My love for
challenges led me me to purchase Himalayan.
When I bought that I could only think of to
conquer the mountain chains of mighty
Himalayas. I rode to the toughest terrains of
Arunachal Pradesh with my 'PANDA' and found
him as confident, tough and strong as me.
I am now on to my four months long ride to
Himalayas on my 'PANDA' which includes J&K,
Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Nepal
and North Eastern States of India.
The best thing about my 'PANDA' is that it's not
complicated, but easy going and built with a
purpose. As RE is famous for it's line 'Built for
all roads' and this line suits perfectly with my
'PANDA.' It does everything, it can cross
potholes, water crossings, slushy roads and
much more. I never have enjoyed doing off
roads with any other bikes, and on highways it
just flies with the flow. I would just say one
thing that my 'PANDA' is my life and my riding
mate who exalts my lure for adventures of
world.
BC: Any particular bike you DISLIKE?
NN: I love all machines.
BC: What made you want to ride a bike? Any
inspirations?
NN: I want to explore the less explored places of
this world and not just covering the roads
connecting cities but travelling to extreme
places without any time bondage. When I was
doing job, I always used to see an IPS lady
officer riding bullet passing near my home. That
time only I had decided that I will also buy RE
one day.
BC: Tell us about your first ride?
NN: The very first journey on bike was from
Guwahati, Assam to leh-Ladakh. As soon as I
bought my 'WANDERBUG,' I decided to got to
Leh and it was a month's ride. It was an
absolutely new experience for me. I was novice
and had zero knowledge of maintaining the bikes but
still decided to take on the toughest terrain and the
riding journey for the first time in my life but for me to
explain to my parents was an another challenge which
took many months and eventually I road but that very
struggle is still going on even after riding for 3 years.
When I started my first ride, I took a deep breath and
went on for it, the first hurdle which I came across was
in West Bengal on the second day itself while I was
crossing forest area. The road was considerably
narrow and a truck hit me from behind, which gave me
a frightened current in my body but thanks to my
riding gears which saved me from major injuries. And
that was the day when I first realize about the
importance of safety gears.
My parents were extremely worried as I was about to
cross Bihar and UP and according to them it was not
safe. However, I met some really good people in both
the states and reached Delhi. It was a awesome
experience of riding all the way from Guwahati to Delhi
in a scorching heat. I was roasted but satisfied &
happy from inside for the sense of freedom it gave me.
And I reached Leh via Punjab & J&K at Khardungla.
