Few things you will need to keep
in mind in Indonesia
Pristine natural beauty, with curvy narrow roads, if you
don't take the main highways.
The highways and main roads have a lot of traffic.
Stay vigilant for small bikes. Kids start riding from the
age of 7 - 8 years.
The people are nice and friendly, but not everyone
speaks English.
The tariff for home stays and basic rooms is 200,000 to
300,000 Rupiah (Indonesian currency).
Different islands have different foods - some are spicy.
During the month of Ramadan you will not get food
during the day on the road, except in Bali.
Make sure you know the prices of your basics, specially
at little cafes by the road.
Indomart is the chain supermarket, where you can get
whatever you need.
Petrol that we used was 'Petramax 92'.
Bikers from Indonesia advised us not to ride at night
specially in Java Island, but we didn't face any
problems.
