HIV/AIDS. Allianz, Comic Relief and Dietmer Hopp Stiffung now support the patron-
age of the Laureus project, which was originally sponsored by the Richemont and
Daimler companies through their Mercedes Benz and IWC Schaffhausen firms. During
the Grand Prix of Classic Cars held in Zoute, Belgium, in October of last year, Daimler
AG donated an exclusive Maybach G650 (only 99 were produced) all-terrain vehicle
through its luxury brand Mercedes Benz, to be auctioned for 1.2 million dollars, which
were donated to the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation. The awards gala is an itiner-
ant event, being Monaco the host in 2018. The ceremony consists of eight categories
with the potential for additional discretionary Awards given: World Sportsman of the
Year, World Sportswoman of the Year, World Team of the Year, World Comeback of the
Year, World Breakthrough of the Year, World Action Sportsperson of the Year, World
Sportsperson of the Year with a Disability and Best Sporting Moment of the Year Award.
