Highlight: SWEET BABOO Over 90 bands will pile in to Wakefield in June as LONG DIVISION plays host to three days of music that takes over the city-centre. The line-up mixes the household names of BRITISH SEA POWER and ASH with raucous newcomers FAT WHITE FAMILY and TUFF LOVE, and they’ve also snared two Welsh wonders in FUTURE OF THE LEFT and SWEET BABOO. Festival stars of the future are scattered through the rest of the line-up. Highlight: THE GANJAS The international PZYK cosmos comes together once again this September in Liverpool’s Baltic quarter, with the addition of District as a venue allowing the freakout to expand further following 2014’s sold-out happening. This year’s bill is helmed by space-psych Titans SPIRITUALIZED, Leeds’ HOOKWORMS, BLANCK MASS, veteran noisemongers THE HEADS, and industrial, post-punk, acid noise specialists FACTORY FLOOR. Brian Jonestown leader ANTON NEWCOMBE also joins the bill as the festival’s first Artist In Residence, and other acts DREAMWEAPON, DENGUE FEVER, and INDIAN JEWELRY also catch the eye. Highlight: VEYU FARM FEAST can be quite simply described as a two-day festival celebrating everything that’s good: music, food, drink, art and family. Claremont Farm, near Clatterbridge in Wirral, will play host to a veritable platter of tasty morsels this year, including a chef’s theatre of professional cooks KATY ASHWORTH, JOHN WHAITE and LUKE THOMAS, as they look to inspire the food lover in all of us. There will also be a plethora of food and drink producers on site, so if you leave the weekend with anything but a full tummy, you’ve done it wrong.
