Police Helicopter helped recall man to custody

The police Helicopter was assisting with locating a wanted person who had been recalled to prison by the Minister of Justice. We are pleased to report the wanted person has been located and returned to custody.26/05/2014

A man from Westword Ho! has appeared before magistrates accused of joint kidnap.

James Michael Potter, 27, of Kala Fair, appeared before North Devon Magistrates’ Court on Friday.

He did not enter a plea to one charge of joint kidnap. He was released on conditional bail until his trial.

He was told not to contact the alleged victim and not to go to Benson Drive, Northam.

Potter’s next appearance in court will be on June 13 at Exeter Crown Court.

A man from Bideford was arrested on suspicion of arson!

A man from Bideford was arrested on suspicion of arson after a fire broke out in a Holsworthy hotel room.

Fire crews, police and ambulance crews were called to the White Hart Hotel in Holsworthy at 2.30pm on 28/05/2014.

Evidence of a fire was found in the room, where £1,000 worth of damage to bedding and carpet had been caused.

A 39-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life.
