KOVAČIJA / BLACKSMITH’S WORKSHOP
Ljubitelji starina i zanatske tradicije, posjetite kovačnicu u Dražicama.
taj zanat. Kovač Damir će vam sa zadovoljstvom demonstrirati rad kovača.

GAŠPAROV MLIN / WATERMILL
Nekada 27 mlinova, a danas u funkciji samo jedan, drveni Gašparov mlin
u Martinovom Selu.

In the past, there were as many as 27 watermills on the River Rječina –
today only the wooden Gašparov Mlin in Martinovo Selo remains. Despite
the fact that it is more than 360 years old, this mill still functions today. The
diligent miller Bruno Kukuljan still mills corn under a heavy stone wheel in
the old-fashioned way, making fine flour which local people have been using
for centuries to prepare the local speciality – potato polenta.
dubokih kanjona i brojnih brzaca, ulijeva u Jadransko more. Gradu Rijeci je dala
ime, a od 1915. i pitku vodu.

This protected natural site and the jewel of the Grobnik area is located
amidst unspoilt nature – it is no wonder that this is a very popular destination
among many nature lovers and sport enthusiasts. The Rječina is a typical
karst river whose source is located at the foot of Kičelj hill. After flowing
through deep canyons with numerous rapids for 18 kilometres, the Rječina
flows in to the Adriatic Sea. In fact, this river not only gave the town its name,
but has also provided its inhabitants with drinking water since 1915.
