Horseback riding
The Black Hills is one of the premier locations in the U. S. for horseback riding. Custer State Park is a utopia for horseback riders, where marked trails begin and end at French Creek Horse Camp. Riders may also choose to blaze their own trail. The Norbeck Wildlife Preserve is another popular destination for horseback riders. Bring your own horse to the Hills, as there are several locations set up for horse camping in the Black Hills National Forest, along with businesses that will put both you and your horse up. But having your own horse is not necessary, as many places offer great horseback riding adventures. Guided rides are available and some even offer pony rides for the little cowpoke in your family.
