Differentiation
No content can be shared. Teachers must create their own content.
There are no differentiation options. Anything you share or assign is sent to the entire class.
Roles are limited to those who have Google accounts within the school's domain. Roles are limited to teacher and student.
Though this has gotten better since Classroom first began, grading is still limited. There are no interactive rubrics or additional feedback tools and no way for students to peer review.
Any activity created in Canvas, as well as full modules or courses can be shared to Canvas Commons. Teachers can share content and districs can even create master courses to distribute to teachers.
Customizable parent role. Parents can self-create accounts and see course content, calendar, and student grades.
Canvas can use points, percentage, letter grades, GPA, or Complete/Incomplete grading scales as well as rubrics, video audio feedback, and text comments. Students can peer review using those same tools.
Activities in Canvas can be assigned to individuals as well as sections. Individuals can have different due dates as well. In a Canvas quiz, individual students can be given extra time or extra attempts on a quiz.
