About the Author

My name is Nicole Schmidt. I live in Westerville, Ohio with my husband and daughter. I am currently a high school Geometry Inclusion teacher at Groveport Madison High School. My teaching career started in 2012 after graduating from Ohio Dominican University with a Bachelor's Degree in Middle Childhood Education. In 2014, I obtained an additional teaching license as an Intervention Specialist in Mild to Moderate K-12. In August of 2018, I will be graduating from Bowling Green University with my Master's Degree in Classroom Technology and this website showcases many of the assignments and tools I have learned along the way.

year's worth of Geometry materials to utilize in Schoology for the 2018-2019 school year. I will gather next year's data after using Schoology for the year, to determine if the online platforms can make a difference. Additionally, I do know of other math teachers that do use online platforms and I intend to gather their data as well. For the 1:1 technology to have a greater impact on student achievement, teachers should be required to keep their own data on what strategies they are using to make the technology more meaningful. This study only gives a glimpse into one aspect of 1:1 technology and it is not enough to only hand students Chromebooks. Teachers must be willing to incorporate the current technological trends into the traditional classroom and evolve with the technology.
