children, Youth & Family Class Cup On May 3, the last day of confirmation before summer break, the youth program wrapped up its inaugural season of the Class Cup with a thrilling victory by the 9th graders. Youth in the confirmation program engaged in a spirited, competitive year-long three-way competition-- 7th graders vs 8th graders vs 9th graders. On a few days throughout the year, youth came to Bethlehem in their class color-- blue, purple and green respectively-- to compete in ridiculous and fun physical and mental feats ranging from staff trivia to scavenger hunts to pool noodle javelin toss. Classes also got points intermittently throughout the year for things like attendance or engaging in service. The points were tallied each week, and by May 3 the race was too close to call. By the end of the night, the 9th graders emerged victorious and were awarded a golden dragon trophy and pizza for their efforts. They will enter the first Class Cup of the year next fall as reigning champion 10th graders, but will have to stay focused and united to keep the trophy in their class. Class Cup was a great way to break now and then from rich large and small group sessions to build teamwork and enjoy fellowship together. We look forward to more laughter and fun when we reconvene in September! Are you thinking about summer? Have you seen it? Have you smiled with all the choices and possibilities of camps this summer?
