WOMEN’S DAY OF SERVICE
Saturday, February 10, 9:30 am-1:00 pm
Speaker: Steph Smith, Bethlehem's Director of Faith Integration
At last year’s Women’s Day of Service we assembled 306
Newborn and 314 Hospice Kits – first time ever we topped
300! Once assembled and packed, the kits are taken to
Global Health Ministries, a local Lutheran nonprofit that in
turn ships them to mission hospitals overseas. There were
so many kits last year we had to rent a U-Haul to get them
to GHM! Each year we’ve completed a few more than the
year before – what can we do this year?? We’ll know soon!
Bethlehem’s Women’s Day of Service will be Saturday, February 10, starting at
9:30 am in the sanctuary.
Our speaker this year is Steph Smith, Bethlehem’s Director of Faith Integration,
who will tell us about our youth program and our partnership with Global
Immersion Project. Women’s Day of Service is one way Bethlehem women and
girls live out our faith. We’ll hear from our youth about last summer’s immersion
trip and how that experience is shaping how they live out their faith, too.
In addition to assembling Newborn and Hospice Kits our projects include tying
quilts for Lutheran World Relief, knitting prayer shawls and tiny newborn baby
hats, and rolling bandages for Lutheran mission hospitals and clinics all over
the world. There’s something for everyone to do, whether you’re 8 years old or
80! We’ll also be collecting cans of soup this year to send to CES and ICA, the
community food shelves supported by our two campuses.
Please plan to join us on February 10 – all are welcome! We hope you’ll bring a
can of soup, your friends, and stay for lunch. It’s always great!

How Do the Completed Projects
Get Shipped All Over the World?
Each year, a percentage of Bethlehem’s
revenue is designated for Outreach.
With these funds Bethlehem’s
Outreach Team is able to provide
grants to our various mission partners,
responding to grant requests from
Bethlehem members who champion
those organizations. Twenty-five local
and global partners received grants
from Bethlehem in 2017. Global
Health Ministries is one of those
partners, and outreach grants for the
last several years have been designated
to help send our completed projects
overseas. In 2017 GHM received
$5,000 from Bethlehem to be used for
their shipping ministry.
16th Alternative Gift Fair
Raises $16,718
The spirit of giving to our neighbors
locally and around the world continues
at Bethlehem Twin Cities as your
generosity impacts thousands of
people. Fewer will go to bed hungry,
over 700 children in India will have
school supplies, 40 families in Africa
will receive solar lanterns, 74 homeless
people in Minneapolis will receive new
socks and underwear, and on and on as
your impact travels around the globe.
Your joy in sharing makes a difference!
Thank you for being part of creating
that joy in the life of one of God's
children known to God, but not
personally to you.
