Hospital Spotlight
Designed to Heal
Forest Park Medical Center is designed to heal. Each facility is built with specific features that provide patients and visitors a helping hand when it comes to healing and reducing the stress that is involved with having
surgery. From the moment one walks in the door, the senses are put at ease with certain design elements that
help with healing. Forest Park Medical Center is Your Destination to Better Health through sight, sound, taste,
touch and smell.

with the Dining Experience
Café Style
Forest Park Medical Center takes pride in breaking the
stereotype of typical hospital food. Each location houses a café style setting with cooked-to-order meals by an
on-site chef and kitchen staff. Joe Jones, the Dining Service Director, in Southlake, says, “We want our guest to
feel like ‘You know what? This is unbelievable!’ and that
it’s not the usual hospital food.”
Made from scratch
Every meal prepared at Forest Park Medical Center is
made from scratch. The chef and kitchen staff uses only
fresh products and original recipes. You will not find
any ingredients come from a can. “One of our goals is
to buy local products when they are available, such as
produce and cheese,” says Kevin Neff, the executive chef
in Frisco. “This allows us to use the highest quality of
products for our meals.”
On-site Dietitians
Each hospital has personal dietitians on staff to not only
meet the dietary needs of the patients, but also to consider the needs for visiting family members and other
guest.
other staff members that work with them of how good
the food is, since our menu is not the typical hospital
fare.”
Works of Art
The menu at each Forest Park Medical Center café
changes daily. Meal options may range from gourmet
pizza and ready-made salads to fresh grilled salmon, pork tenderloins and home-made meatloaf. Each
guest is individually served their custom ordered dish
on modern dinnerware with appealing presentation to
avoid a tray line feel. Southlake Dining Service Director,
Joe Jones simply explains it by saying, “The plate itself is
a work of art. Our chef has an eye for making your food
look so pretty, yet edible at the same time.”
Innovative food
Forest Park Medical Center puts forth every effort to be
innovative with their food, providing cost efficient and
high quality meals for those who choose to dine in the
café. “I have this saying that if it’s not done in the spirit
of excellence, we won’t serve it,” says Jones.
Dining Destination
Patrons who have no ties to the hospital frequently visit
the Café as their dining destination. “I thought it was
pretty neat to have people walking down the street to
come into this facility,” says Tony Rhodes, the Food Service Director in Frisco. “They’re not patients and they
don’t have any family members here at the hospital, but
they just want to try us out because they’ve heard from
