Where:
1. Greylock Glen, Gould Road, Adams: One of Jeff’ s favorite locations because there are amazing trails for all abilities. Flat walks along the stream and beautiful meadows from which one can see the tower atop mighty Mt. Greylock, plus numerous trails for biking and backcountry skiing in the winter. If you’ re looking to summit Greylock, this is the spot— taking Gould Trail, Cheshire Harbor, or Thunderbolt trail to the top. Special tip: For a bit of an adventure, take Bellows South Trail to Ragged Mountain for incredible views of Greylock.
2. Dunbar Brook, River Road, Florida / Monroe: For something more off the beaten path, Jeff recommends Dunbar Brook Trail. Featuring trailheads at the top of Main Road in Monroe and at the bottom off River Road, the River Road access point also offers a picnic area with tables and a swing set. The trail is moderate with some up and down as it follows the stream, an out of the way and gorgeous adventure.
