APRIL AT
THE BFSC
On April, the Benjamin Franklin Science
Corner celebrated Earth Day and Teacher’s
Appreciation Day. For Earth Day, the
Benjamin Franklin Science Corner worked
together with the Information Center of
the United Nations and the Roosevelt
Library from the CCPA. The program
included the first Model United Nation in
English with Access students. The goal of
the program was to highlight the
immediate relevance of current issues
related to climate change. The 75
participants included Access students from
Asuncion, San Lorenzo and Coronel
Oviedo. Also, Ambassador Leslie Bassett
gave the introductory remarks.

In commemoration of Teacher’s
Appreciation Day, the Science
Corner hosted a teacher training
program on organic chemistry. The
goal of this activity was to
highlight the importance of STEM
activities for students.
Participants explored polymers
using every day materials. The 23
teachers, were from a high school
located at the Chaco Region of
Paraguay.
