Things That I Hate

Winter Holiday Edition

By Andrew

Hello everyone. This past year, I've talked about various things that I hated. I went back to the beginning when I did my anniversary edition this year. I've gone deeper into the things that I've hated for various reasons. Now, as we get towards the end of the year, it is time for me to brush off any rain or snow I have and get down to talking about the winter holidays. As always, all Things That I Hate are solely mine and in no way represent the staff or views of Bending Reality Magazine. Last year, my topics were about getting to your destination on time, traffic, and new years. What will I talk about this time? Let's get started so we can find out.

The first topic for this edition is gift returns. While it is true that the best gifts come from the heart, there are times when you have no choice but to return an item because of the item being the wrong color, not fitting right, not being the item you want, or other various reasons. As we get towards the year where this is quite common, while it can be a nuisance, it doesn't need to be if you remember that it is what comes from the heart. If you're buying the item for someone else, they should enjoy it. For this time of year, it's a good thing to keep that receipt in case you need to return it. Got to be careful with what you get though, because it might turn out to be a lemon, something you didn't want at all.

The second topic for this edition is people having too much to drink at holiday parties. While this is a bit odd concerning that is normal for the time of year, it still is bad. There is bound to be one person in every party who has had a bit too much holiday cheer by drinking too much. While this can be very bad, keep in mind that it is the holiday season. If you're the host of a party, you can limit how much is served at a party, stop a person if you feel they have had

too much, or if needed, get a sober person to drive the person back home

or get a taxi to get you home safely. This time of year, there are people

who don't make it back home because they have had one too many drinks

at a party. Don't make this happen. Be safe, get yourself home.
