July 18, 2014 – The Northside of Chicago rocked to The Piano Man! I have never interviewed myself but this seems like a good opportunity. My review of the concert will come forth as you read through my comments to myself. Enjoy!

Richard_DeGrey: The Billy Joel concert at Wrigley Field (Home of Chicago Cubs) was fuc*ing AWESOME! OMG! July 18, 2014 in The Windy City, Billy Joel put on a tremendous show!

Richard_DeGrey: There were non-ticket holders outside the stadium dancing and having parties! Like 1,000s of peeps OUTSIDE the concert! OMG!

Richard_DeGrey: Must have been 40,000 fans inside Wrigley Field.

Richard_DeGrey: Billy performed all of his standards – “Innocent Man” brought down the house!

“River of Dreams” was spiritually uplifting! There were several standing ovations! “The Entertainer” with its biting sarcasm was perfect. “Uptown Girl” brought the crowd to its feet. Just amazing.

Richard_DeGrey: During "Piano Man" at the final chorus the band stopped playing and Joel stopped singing. Turning to the crowd, Billy listened as 40,000+ adoring fans sang his song to him!

Richard_DeGrey: What a tribute! OMG!

Richard_DeGrey: The people in the seats were dancing all through the concert. Even to the slow songs. It was amazing to watch the crowd as much as the concert.

Richard_DeGrey: We had perfect seats. High up and mid-stage. My 10X30 Cannon IS binoculars made our $100.00 seats appear to be $1,000 seats! A couple of tequila drinks set the right mood!

Richard_DeGrey: Billy was dressed in a dark grey suit with black shirt and patterned black tie. OMG... did he look sharp!

Richard_DeGrey: Joel performed some deep album cuts from the early days -- the 70s and 80s songs that didn't make the charts. It was amazing to see the reaction of the crowd. They knew those tunes as well!

Richard_DeGrey: One of Billy Joel's guitar roadies sang "Highway to Hell" - a "spiritual sacred classic" by AC/DC. The crowd went nuts! Bonjkers!

Richard_DeGrey: My only disappointment was that he did not perform 3 of my favorites -- "Goodnight Saigon", "And So It Goes", and "Lullaby".

Richard_DeGrey: What a fantastic experience! One more concert off my "bucket-list". So far, in addition to Billy Joel, I have been blessed to see Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles, and Trans-Siberian Orchestra in person.

Richard_DeGrey: Of course there were The Beach Boys concerts, and many trips to see ALABAMA.

-smiles- Mannheim Steamroller did a great Christmas concert two years ago.

Richard_DeGrey: The limo driver could not get to us after the concert - the crowd was so massive.

Richard_DeGrey: We got home at 2:00AM. WOW! I could not sleep so in tribute to Mr. Billy Joel I shaved my head!
