This time for fashion we are going to talk about a few mythical creatures. The first creature we are going to talk about is the leprechaun. The leprechaun is a mischievous faerie creature. The Leprechaun spends all it’s time busily making shoes, and storing away all its coins in a hidden pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. If ever captured by a human, the Leprechaun has the magical power to grant three wishes in exchange for their release, usually taking the form of an old man, clad in a red or green coat, who enjoys partaking in mischief.

The second mythical creatures we are going to talk about are Pixies. Pixies are like tiny little elves, only with sneakier and less majestic faces and long ears. They wear bright clothing, including caps and shoes with curled, and pointed toes. Pixies are normally invisible, even when attacking, and unless they choose to be visible, only others of their race can see them. Although goodly, pixies adore playing tricks and pranks. Some of their favorite pastimes include leading travelers astray, pinching skin black and blue, and stealing invaluable items.

Third on our list of mythical creatures is the Sprite. A sprite is a supernatural legendary creature. Sprites are often elf-like creatures, including fairies, and similar beings (although not earth beings), but can also signify various spiritual beings, including ghosts. There isn’t much that a Sprite wears considering they are mainly in a ghostly form so no one really knows what they are to wear.

Fourth on our list of mythical creatures are Fairies. Fairies resemble various beings of other mythologies, though even folklore that uses the term fairy offers many definitions. Fairies are generally described as human in appearance and having magical powers. They are known to wear skirts and shirts of any size but most seem to be made from old clothing type rags of course probably by a tailor fairy lol (watched too much tinker bell) .

Fifth and final mythical creature we will be talking about is the Banshee. A banshee is a fairy woman who begins to wail if someone is about to die. In Scottish Gaelic mythology, she is known as the bean sìth or bean nighe and is seen washing the bloodstained clothes or armor of those who are about to die. The banshee can appear in a variety of guises. Most often she appears as an ugly, frightening hag, but she can also appear as a stunningly beautiful woman of any age that suits her. In some tales, the figure who first appears to be a banshee or other cailleach is later revealed to be the Irish battle goddess, the Morrígan. The banshee may also appear in a variety of other forms, such as that of a hooded crow, stoat, hare and weasel.

Now since you have had a back story on some of the mythical creatures it is time to talk about humans. On St. Patrick’s Day many of us have seen or at least heard of people dressing up like the above mythical creatures but that isn’t the only way you can dress up for the occasion. You can add some green to whatever attire you pick out for that day such as if you are wearing a pair of black jeans and a white shirt add a bit of green to it by adding a green necklace and some green earrings. I mainly like to use four leaf clover necklaces and earrings on this day. Along with the casual look you could do what a lot of role players will do and actually dress up like one of the mythical creatures listed above or any other mythical creature.

Personally, St. Patrick’s Day is not to celebrate by getting completely wasted but also just have a good time with friends, family and whoever you feel close to. Anyway among what is written above you can also just dress as yourself and go casual even wearing a St. Patrick’s Day hat or something for the occasion. We all know someone somewhere in our neighborhoods will throw a party and have drinks and snacks. So be aware of that and wear something that expands so you don’t have to open the top button to those chic looking pants you pick. Well everyone have a wonderful Holiday on St. Patrick’s Day and please be safe. If you drink please do the right thing and have a “designated leprechaun” as a driver.
