Belmont Blessings Issue May 25 | Page 3

Issue Date: May 25, 2014 - pg 3 Hospital Visitors at P.R.H.C The Anglican Pastoral Care Lay Visitors who visit as many Anglican patients as they can in the Peterborough Regional Health Centre are looking for new members to share in this valuable and gratifying ministry. If you are interested, please speak to Gloria and then contact Gordon Johnston (705 743-0476, [email protected]). The time commitment is not too heavy, the average being 2 to 3 hours every two weeks. The mutual support and the fellowship of the other visitors at our monthly meetings are rewarding, as is the ministry itself. You will of course first need to be trained and mentored in order to feel prepared. The four-week Pastoral Visiting Training Course will be offered on Saturdays, September 20 and 27 and October 18 and 25. The fee is $60. Please be aware that a police check obtained through Diocese of Toronto guidelines will be required. Flyers As we receive them, flyers advertising events in the community and beyond are posted on the clipboards in each church. Browse there on your way in or out and you might find some interesting stuff going on. Senior’s Summit: A Critical Dialogue Thursday May 29, 2014 at Trent University. Please check the flyer for details about this event. Sharing God’s Abundant Life Copies of this brochure have been made available in each of the churches and there is a link on our website; produced by the Anglican Church in Ontario (http://province-ontario.anglican.ca). It provides ways for each of us to learn about issues of importance to the well-being of Ontarians; questions you might want to ask candidates of all three parties; offers ways that you might help yourself and your neighbours to become informed voters.
