high street
A shopping mall/shopping centre is when one or more buildings form a complex of shops representing merchandisers with interconnecting walkways that enable customers to walk from unit to unit. Inside they contain a variety of elements such as clothes shops, food places and sometimes even cinemas or bowling alleys. The shopping mall usually has a place in which the customer can park safely such as a multi-storey or car park.
The high street is usually located in the centre of the town and is often the main street running through it. On it consists of lots of shops, banks and ther businesses. The retailers situated on the high street cater to the needs of the general public. A high-street shop is a typical shop you would find on such a high street such as Topshop, Newlook or Primark.
In Town
In town stores are located towards the centre of the town or city. Car parking is usually pay and display becuase you are in the centre and shops are all located close by. In town stores are very convinient for people living within the area because they can be quick and get what they need. In town is ample resturants, stores and often a daily market too. During seasons such as Winter in town stores will be very busy and overcorwded as people prepare for christmas, this could start as early as September/October.
Independent
An independent retailer is someone who is completely responsible for his or her own business. The retailer owns or has bought an independent store and has built the business from the ground up by assessing all needs of the store
Multiple/Chain
Chain store(s) or retail chain are retail outlets that share a brand and central management, and usually have standardized business methods and practices. The stores are usually spread nationwide or worldwide such as Bodyshop.
