Who hosts the bridal shower ?
Again – no hard or fast rules apply here anymore . It can be hosted by the maid of honour , close friends , bridal attendants , bridesmaids , her mother and future mother-in-law . It is a given , however , that the maid of honour and bridesmaids , if not hosting , must step up and take care of some of the arrangements .
Where should a bridal shower be held ? The location will depend on where the majority of the guests are from , to eliminate excessive traveling . Getting down to specifics , the venue can be at someone ’ s home , in a restaurant , or booked venue .
Taking the bride ’ s preferences into account , booking out a small coffee shop and hosting a barista course could provide venue and activity , or perhaps a chef or pastry chef provide a cooking or baking class at a local cooking school could work too . You could go horse-riding and a picnic under the trees could be the venue – your imagination is your only limitation .
Create a shower budget
The host will have to determine the budget and stick to it . Remember that the guests will also have immediate-future expenses for the wedding itself , so be frugal and respectful of their finances too . If the host is covering all of the expenses , all is fine and well , but if guests are expected to contribute to the function itself as well , be diplomatic about it . One may not be able to donate a heap of cash , but could provide flowers to offset their donation in part or in full . The same could go for the photographer . Typical costs will include food , drinks , décor , venue , rentals , photography , videography , and any other vendors to customize the event .
