The inside look on speakeasies

Ever since the 18th Amendment passed through the clutches of congress it's been illegal to sell, transport or manufacture "intoxicating" beverages for consumption in our country..but Prohibition hasn't stop us from drinking; it simply pushed the business of booze underground.

There are currently thousands of speakeasy clubs operating in New York City, and just as much bootlegging operations to keep the supply of alcohol circulating to our quenched citizens.

The temperance movement might have had our nation captive with the sad stories of wives being abused by their alcoholic husbands, but banning alcohol quickly snapped us out of that trance and has become highly unpopular.

Mobsters are making millions of dollars from illegal alcohol sales. In addition to the rise of the mob-run black market, many citizens simply ignoring the law. Sources, that would like to remain anonymous, have informed us that they've have even seen the police being payed off!

We will always find loopholes in the system. The one loophole yet to come is another ammendment to counter this one.
