TALMIDIM “ADOPT”
HOLOCAUST SURVIVORS
The Yeshiva’s eighth grade talmidim were addressed
by Mr. Irving Roth this fall. Mr. Roth, a survivor of the
Holocaust, is the founder of the Adopt-A-Survivor project.
As in previous years, the talmidim are going to interview
Holocaust survivors, whom they will “adopt” — researching
and presenting their unique stories of heroism and survival.
Each boy is also committed to perpetuating his adopted
survivor’s story by retelling it to the next generation.
The Chinuch Haggadah
was published by ArtScroll/
Mesorah shortly before
Pesach. Authored by
the Rosh HaYeshiva,
Rav Yaakov Bender, the
Haggadah contains the full text of the
Haggadah and translation, plus an extensive English
peirush that features his illuminating explanations, a wealth
of stories, and practical life lessons for every contemporary
parent, educator, and member of Klal Yisrael that are
relevant year-round. Containing 278 pages, it is available
in hardcover at Judaica retailers or at Darchei.org/Shop,
where the Rosh HaYeshiva’s other books, Chinuch with
Chessed and Chinuch with Heart can also be purchased.
A GADOL B’YISRAEL INSPIRES THE YESHIVA
Shortly before Rosh Hashana, the Yeshiva was graced by a visit from Harav
Reuven Feinstein, shlita, the revered Rosh Yeshiva of the Yeshiva of Staten
Island. Rav Feinstein addressed the entire Yeshiva, from third grade through
Beis Medrash, offering divrei chizuk in advance of the Yamim Noraim. All of
the talmidim wore white shirts for the illustrious occasion. After his remarks,
Rav Feinstein remained to greet every single rebbi and talmid.
Parshas Noach Comes
Alive at Preschool
The talmidim of the Harriet Keilson Early
Childhood Center got a glimpse of what the
Teivah of Noach must have looked like when
a delegation of farm animals arrived at the
Yeshiva’s parking lot. The children were able
to pet and feed the animals, including cows,
sheep, goats, ducks, chickens, and a pheasant,
making the parshas hashavua come to life.
