Visit our website: | bandbnews.co.uk | 3 Editor: David Weston [email protected] Happy Christmas from all of us . . here’s to a high-occupancy 2017! A lot has been happening ‘behind the scenes’ recently to better serve our members, and to fight some of the campaigns you tell us are important to you. The launch of the Scottish B&B Association (SBBA - see p16), fully affiliated with the UK-wide B&B Association, will better serve members in Scotland, whilst losing none of the advantages only a UK trade association can bring. The hope is that the two working together will provide the best of both worlds. Meanwhile we have been on the road - to Llandudno and Edinburgh (p14), our CEO has taken part in Brexit discussions on the UK Government’s Tourism Industry Council, and our campaign to level the playing-field with Airbnb has been gaining pace (p12), as has our work on the practices of online travel agencies, and much more besides. Don’t forget your member benefits: these include 20% off printing with Vistaprint, and up to 30% off electrical goods with Hotpoint - and of course our B&B Association Theatre Club offers (see opposite): much more on the member pages of our website. Have a well-earned rest over the festive season, and here’s hoping for a great year in 2017 of high occupancy, good prices - and perhaps even a little less uncertainly about our political futures . . .
