ANIMAL
CRUELTY
Animal cruelty is another reason why many non-vegetarians change to vegetarianism.
The entire process of raising the animals, shipping the animals to slaughter-houses, and actually slaughtering them is considered to be unethical. Anything an animal would naturally do is taken away from them, such as, building a nest or raising a family. These defenseless animals live in massive warehouses, which are filled with cows, pigs, or chickens. The corporate companies that own and run the factories discovered that they can increase profit by crowding the animals to the point where they can barely turn around or sit comfortably. Some of those animals are too weak to stand and either end up getting sick or even dying. While the animals are in the factory farms, they are fed with drugs that fatten them quicker than normal and to keep them alive in conditions that would
normally kill them. Female cows are genetically altered to produce more than an average cow normally would. Many of them produce so much milk, that there comes a point where they cannot bare to stand anymore and become immobilized so they can not feed or drink water which ends in death, where they lay crippled. On the other hand, those that remain alive can become so big that they must be milked several times a day.
