Mud Wrestli with Robyn Cove of RaggedRobyn How did you get into working with clay/ceramics? I was 16 years old, studying Art & Design at College and we had a Ceramics class that was part of the course. As soon as I touched clay it seemed to make sense to me, as if some part of me already knew it and how it would react to my touch. I also felt a connection with the outcome of the work, like how strong my joins would be after firing. Although I had little knowledge on glaze materials and surface finish I found that I knew how to apply them to the bisque ceramics for the preferred end result. The very first pot I made was a slab jug with oxide painted on then partly washed off and covered with a transparent glaze. Everything came out of the kiln as hoped, and I went on to sell those jugs in local shops and craft events. I was hooked!
