Shocking bottles Trudy Wijaja and Tiara Mirchandani The Year 2 created a shocking electric circuit (in a plastic bottle) made out of wires, switches and the idea of doors. They first learned how a basic circuit works. Then they made a simple circuit. After that, they took the challenge and made a circuit with a switch. They discovered that the switch works like a door. When it is on, the electricity flows through. On the other hand, when the switch is off, the electricity is blocked - just like people trying to get in a door. They had a lot of fun and they learned a lot! Fun With Year 3 Bahasa Indonesia Zara Ratnani, Year 5 The Year 3s are learning about volcanoes in Indonesia, such as Gunung Merapi, Gunung Krakatau and Gunung Kelut. The happy students are also learning about many legends such as Sangkurlang, a legend from Bandung. Another thing they are learning about is Ibu Kartini who introduced the independence of women. The students enjoy learning these stories because they get to know more about the culture and tradition of our wonderful Indonesia. It demonstrated students’ strength because they were interested and curious to learn all about Indonesia, a wonderful country, under the guidance of Mrs Dipa. 7
