On the 13 of May, in the Gedung Kesenian theatre, Beacon Academy’s Years 1 and 2 performed ‘The Jungle
Book Musical.’ The Jungle Book is a captivating musical about the story of a boy’s (Mowgli) life growing up in the
jungles of India. He befriends a bear named Baloo and a black panther named Bagheera. Also, Mowgli interacts
and gets into mischief with many of the jungle animals. This is all while he is avoiding a particularly malicious tiger
by the name of Sher Khan.
In Beacon Academy’s take on this Disney classic, a Year 2 boy named Pavan played Mowgli. Beacon Press’ own
Aaryan Amar says that he constantly reminisces his own performance of ‘The Jungle Book’ back in his first year
at Beacon Academy. “I remember performing as the Baby Elephant,” says Aaryan, Fire House Captain, “ and
even though it wasn’t a very big role, I was still proud to have been a part of something so big in Beacon
Academy history.”
The students sang and danced their hearts out on the stage of Gedung Kesinian. As the spotlight beamed upon
them, the Year 1s and 2s made Beacon Academy proud!
