 Be With Me – We want our horses to seek us out, to want to be with us and to feel satisfied when they are. We want their desire to be the same as ours, togetherness, in unity as one. But how can we come to ask this of them? By a simple question, asked with the right manner of politeness and beneficial outcome for the horse. But we first must ask ourselves to be content with all in ourselves and all around us. We must find ourselves in the moment, our surroundings, our mind, our horse, we must be aware of all these things but at the same time peacefully acceptant of them all. We must let free any emotional baggage, any negative thoughts and feel pleasant within. We want to ground ourselves, breath long and deep into our entire body, close our eyes and listen to the world around us, smell the air, feel the grass, see the sky and be at one within that moment and bring that oneness to ourselves. Only then we can be at one within our self and our horse. We want to offer what we know our horse is looking for, comfort, safety, food, water, enjoyment, pleasure, social life etc. All his needs must be met by us in all instances of his life, not just the ones we want. If he is content with what we have to offer he will be content with us. So how do we ask him to seek us in a manner of politeness and one of which he will understand and feel drawn to, as oppose to other methods of pressure, demand or force? We give him free choice, the choice in which he rightly deserves as any living being on this earth does. We must relinquish any feel of dominance and control over a situation as we humans like to have in order to authentically offer this freedom of choice and allowance to our horses. In asking this, we require some form of self awareness over our body, energy, mind and being. Our horses are much more sensitive to the things we often look past, so to ensure we create a clear message we must be able to enhance these scenes in ourselves to understand and use them better to be able to communicate efficiently with our horses. To use “Intention” to ask or suggest something to our horse we must be aware and capable of the mentioned above to at least some degree within ourselves. To send our horse the message “Be With Me” or ask them “Come Join Me”, we must ask within ourselves and only our outer body to clarify a ask if we need to at first. Our ask must be as our intentions, look to the horse with our mind and draw him back to us with our energy. From the breath deep into your stomach/core we want to visualise a draw/pull in energy and intention of mind. Similar as smooth waves in the ocean sweep onto the shore as if the shore where pulling the waves towards the sand. Visualise him coming to you and the waves of energy drawing his face towards you, whilst feeling those waves of energy drawing/pulling back from him to your core in a rhythmic motion. We must use this invitation with our mind and body, our entire being is put into the invitation, but always and the softest and most pleasant inviting manner. We must not feel discouraged if he looks disinterested; as soon as we deter our mind from our intentions we lose it and must refocus. Patience is key in the beginning of this exercise, frustration or anger will only decrease your chances of success with your horse. Focus on your ask, and adjust your pull/draw of energy and eventually he will feel your ask and respond to it. We must recognise the smallest of response to our intentions to know we are on the right wave length of mind and body to connect with him. First meeting with Arthur, can you see the draw of energy between him and myself? Aulanda Park The Three “With Me” 1 | P a g e
